Already a champion among juniors in Spain, Laura stepped back from the big sport at the age of 20 years and found employment in the field of medicine, but inspired by his brother not to give up. Morozov coached him in America, despite the fact that he rented an apartment together with the Spanish figure skating coach Mikel Garcia, who helped Javier learn English, prepare a meal, to adapt in different ways to the hard life in New Jersey. Two or three thousand euro costs almost pulled the father of the young future champion, but he survived in an environment where everything had to go about 10 000 dollars. Since legendary coach Nikolai Morozov had a special approach to training and did not have a permanent base, Javier Fernández then had to move to Moscow, then in Latvia. But in 2010, the athlete was on his first Olympic Games in Vancouver (Canada). And he went down in history as the first Spanish skater since 1956, participant of the Olympic Games. Javier took 14 th place. Then I had to change the coach because of what Morozov has coached over Frenchman Florent Amodio (for which he paid money to the federation).
