Biography

Yana Romanova S. was born in May 1983 in the city of Kurgan. When she first saw the skiing competitions, it was determined to become a professional athlete. The first steps in biathlon

In biathlon Yana Romanova came at 15 years of age. She started practicing with coach Valery Samsonovich Kondakov. Two years later, at the regional competitions, the young athlete noticed coach Anisimov Vladimir Semenovich, who took Romanov to his Omsk.

There Jana combined the training process with their studies at a local university, where she studied at a sports instructor. Intensive classes have not been in vain - the girl very soon came the first successes in the biathlon track.

2002 brought Yana Romanova first achievements and fame. She promptly burst into the top thirty of the best juniors in the world. As early as next year, the Russian biathlete has managed to win the World Championship silver medals in the sprint and pursuit.

In the relay Yana Romanova for the first time in his career, he was the winner of international competitions. After these victories the young biathlete was invited to the main Russian national team.

Professional career

Once Romanov in 2009 in pursuit won a bronze medal at the World Championships with a summer biathlon, and then received the same award for the Universiade torch, she began performing at the World Cup.

The debut of Yana Romanova took place in 6 stage in the Italian Anterselva. In the sprint, the Russian has become the thirteenth, and in pursuit - the twenty-sixth. But the best result was seventh place in the individual race at the World Championships in Östersund.

In the season 2008/09 Iana Romanova failed to please their fans better results at the World Cup. But it still proved to be: at the European Championship in Ufa biathlon first was second in the sprint, and then the third - in the pursuit race.

Olympic season started very well for Romanov. At the second stage in Austrian Hochfilzen she and Sleptsova, and Zaitseva Boulygina won the relay race. Then there was a fourth place in the "prostitutes" in Slovenian Pokljuka, and after him the second place in the relay in Ruhpolding, Germany.

Thanks to the good performance, Romanov became part of the Olympic team. But in Vancouver, he once came to the track: in the individual race, she finished only sixth in the top ten.

Despite the disastrous performance at the Olympics, Ian was able to end the season for the first time to win the World Cup. It happened in Khanty-Mansiysk in the sprint race.

The next three seasons Yana Romanova could not get on the podium at the World Cup. The best result was the eleventh in the pursuit race in Lahti, Finland.

In 2013, Romanov start serious training for the Olympic Games in Sochi. She has participated in almost all stages, regularly gaining credit points, and in Anterselva Sprint ranked fifth. At the Olympics Iana Romanova was the first nineteenth in the sprint, and then - the twenty-third in the pursuit race. After that there was a failure in the "prostitutes" - biathlete finished only in the fifties. Despite this, coaches trusted Romanova in the relay team and no mistake. Together with Zaitseva Shumilova and Viluhinoy Yana won the silver medal.

After the Olympics in Sochi biathlon held one more season. At the World Cup it is regularly gaining test points, and in the experimental mixed relay in the Czech Novo Mesto won a landslide victory. In addition, she won bronze at the World Cup among the military in Boden.

In May 2015 Yana Romanova decided to finish his professional career.
