Churchill's secret bunker, abandoned subway station and abandoned tunnels - Invisible London hides a lot of secrets and mysteries. We walk.
The unused subway station and tunnels are sometimes open to the public as part of the festivals. This picture stairs leading to one of the abandoned stations.
Down Street station it was a station of the London Underground Piccadilly Line, which was opened in 1907. Low load station led to its closure in 1932. During the Second World War, Down Street was used as a bomb shelter, particularly Winston Churchill and his War Cabinet.

"You are here". Down Station Street, which in 1939 became a secret underground bunker of Winston Churchill during the Second World War.
The station was built by the architect Leslie Green and had a red glazed facade.
Churchill, apparently, loved his secret bunker, affectionately calling him "The Barn". Guests have been, and a bathroom with an inscription "WC".
