The building student dormitories The Chapter in London, UK, is near England's oldest railway stations of King's Cross and St Pancras. That is why Tigg + Coll Architects produced the hostel reconstruction, focusing on railway past district.
The lobby resembles a train station arrival hall, with its high ceiling, concrete, metal beams and curved wooden benches. The walls are covered with ceramic tiles, floor areas are covered with mosaics. Upholstered in a soft cloth sofas evoke seating compartment car. Located in different areas of the building sofas and carpets islands offer comfortable for relaxing and socializing. Shared kitchen has a space where students can prepare meals and snacks. Architects have increased access to the lobby of daylight, open an existing mezzanine and adding glass partitions with steel frames. new ladder of steel and wooden guardrail with a metal grid was installed; interior metal elements are repeated in the lighting console. Among other additions, which brought with it a reconstruction - a cinema hall and areas for classes, individually and collectively, decorated common long tables and high chairs.
