The story of

Special machine "Shaft" was created in the eighties in Klimovsk Central Research Institute of precision engineering designer P. Serdyukov based design was based on the nine-millimeter sniper rifle "Vintorez". the need for development was caused by the low efficiency of previously used rifle quietest complexes "Canary" and "Silence". Special ammunition

Machine "Shaft" fires special subsonic ammo SP-6 and SP-5. They have been specially designed for this type of weapon and have unique properties. At subsonic flight speed, which drastically reduces the shot sound-6 SP can penetrate eight millimeter steel sheet at a distance of one hundred meters or 5 mm on the whole distance of the actual fire. In other words, such a bullet can not sustain any vest with a third class of protection, as it does not protect against armor art light or light cover.
